Due to arrive in mid-2022, the new Nissan Z replaces the iconic 370Z and continues the Japanese brand’s legacy of dynamic, rear-wheel drive sports cars. Boasting a long bonnet in keeping with classic sports car design, as well as a sharply rising windshield and steeply tapered roofline, it’s endowed with aggressive, slick looks that can’t fail to set your pulse racing. A high shoulder line and sculpted flanks add to the Z’s athletic character, while a spoiler aids its aerodynamics and wider front tyres improve cornering performance.
The all-new Nissan Z is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which is paired to either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic gearbox – the choice is yours. Expect a 300kW output and 475Nm of torque – that’s 30 percent more power than the car’s predecessor. The result is a 0-100km speed of less than five seconds.
To step behind the wheel is to enjoy a modern, responsive drive while feeling the connection to the Z’s impressive heritage. This sense of past to present is accentuated by the interior design, which features vintage touches such as the three analog pod gauges on the instrument panel and a centre stack design that’s reminiscent of the models that came before.
